I wouldn’t say I was a rabid fan of Jackass when it was on television. I wasn’t running home to watch every new episode and I wasn’timitating it with my friends in my backyard-not that there is anything wrong with that. I know a few people who recorded themselvesdoing stupid stuff and posting it on YouTube. I think it’s hilarious but I just wasn’t one of those people. While I wasn’t an avid fan I still enjoy the stupidity they brought to the world. I do watch reruns of the show and I watch the movies whenever I have the pleasure of catching them on television. Even after watching them a few times I still can’t stop myself from laughing uncontrollably even though I know what is going to happen. Yeah, it’s immature but it’s meant to be. It is not meant to be award winning material unless you count the MTV Movie Awards… Which no one really does anymore.
I have always thought that the Jackass crew is extremely talented. I feel you have to be talented to do some of the crazy stuff that they do and to do it with a smile and a willingness to do it all over again if it didn’t work out the first time. I hadn’t heard about this new feature until yesterday when I had the pleasure of watching the new trailer and just like before I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. The movie seems to be a combination of Jackass and Borat as Johnny Knoxville, dressed up like an 80 year old man, performs really stupid acts in front of everyday people to film their reactions. Again, while it’s not award winning material, it still looks hilarious.
