They’re Back! New Star Wars Trailer is Here!

I did not hate the new trilogy of Star Wars

It did have its flaws, I will admit that. There is the obvious Jar-Jar Binks. The lack of practical affects. The over abundance of CGI. Hayden Christiansen (he was better when he went all Darth Vader on us, though).

Yes, each and every single one of these did not help the new trilogy to become as epic as the original trilogy but a lot of good also came from the new trilogy. Ewan McGregor was a fabulous Obi-Wan Kenobi. Darth Maul was, for the minimal time he was actually on screen, extremely intimidating and extremely bad ass. The fight sequences were all so well choreographed and exciting to watch.

Oh, and there was always this:

Maybe it was not her best performance ever but she’s always a pleasure to watch.

So does the negative of the new trilogy outweigh the positive?

For me it doesn’t, but for many of those who were the children of the original trilogy, Episodes I, II, and III has nearly, if it not already, ruined their expectations for the new trilogy.

Well, I am here to tell you that you need not fear anymore because if the new The Force Awakens turns to be only 1/8 as awesome as this new teaser trailer is then we are already ahead of the game.

I will not ruin it for you by describing it moment by moment. Click on the link below, watch it and then read my response:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser Trailer

Oh. My. Minichlorians!

From open shot across the desert amidst the wreckage of the old Empire, to the final shot of Han and Chewy, this teaser had me.

I was a little disappointed with the length of this trailer, seeing that it is in fact another teaser, but the fact that this one compared to the other one focuses on the older characters, such as Luke, Han, R2-D2, and Chewy make up for it.

This teaser had just enough to keep me in its grasp. We had amazing arial battles, quick shots of our new characters interacting, and then this guy:

And if none of that  getting you excited, it’s also narrated partially by older Luke Skywalker and while we never see a clear glimpse of Luke we do get a nice shot of the charred Darth Vader helmet:

In the end, this trailer did exactly what it was designed to do-tease us. It did a fantastic job and with less than one year away my excitement for Star Wars: The Force Awakens just once again skyrocketed

The Force will awaken this December.
